Velvety volume

In my life-long quest for big hair, I have tried countless volumizing products from shampoos and conditioners to mousses and sprays, all with high hopes for a long lasting, just left the salon with an amazing blow-out look.  Well I've found my new favorite!  Redken Professional - velvet gelatine 07  This thick creamy gel, applied to damp hair and styled with a round brush (yes, you have to round brush your hair if you expect any volume.  That goes for any product.) will leave your hair with a cushion-like volume.  The kind of volume you would get from teasing your hair, only without the tangled mess.  It has a strong musky floral scent which is a little much for my taste but it doesn't linger so no issues there.  The best part, the finished style lasts!  You can find this hair marvel at any salon that carries Redken products.

What's all this nonsense?

So I've been thinking about doing this for awhile now... blogging.  A blog.  Blog.  What a stupid word.  Lets call it an online journal that is meant to be shared.  Ojtimtbs.  No?  How 'bout O-Jo.

Regardless, I've decided to take the plunge and we'll see what kind of splash it will make.  I'm not an aspiring writer nor do I secretly wish to be a journalist and I'll be the first to say, I'm a crappy photographer.  I do, just like everyone, have a lot going on and a lot to share and as if I didn't already have enough on my plate, I think I'll add to the chaos.  Maybe this will help sort my world, who knows.

What you can expect to see here is a grab bag of information, some helpful, some useless.  I've been a hairstylist for 14 years and I have an ever-expanding bag of tricks I'd love to share.  I'm also a wife and a mother, a daughter and sister, aunt and friend.  I host family gatherings, offer unsolicited advice, have a way with sarcasm, an eye for vintage, a flair for eclectic, an unforgettable laugh (or so I've been told), and aspire to be a singer and dancer.  Although with my severe lack of physical talent, the last two may have to wait for another life.
